Columbia Lutheran Home is where we celebrate life
Est. 1920
On the same city block for the past century, Columbia Lutheran Home has practiced innovative, compassionate care guided by our Founder’s holistic approach and mission to provide care for the whole person ~ body, mind, and spirit. Our Home remains one of the longest standalone Not-for-Profit nursing homes in the Pacific NW. We invite you to learn more about Columbia and how we became one of Seattle’s most admired 5-star skilled nursing facilities for short term Transitional Care, Rehabilitation, and Long Term Elder Care.
Columbia has practiced holistic care since 1920. We strive to remain one of the best teaching facilities in the nation as well as a successful nonprofit. Delivering the highest standards of care with dignity and respect is an essential part of our mission. And as a not-for-profit, we pride ourselves on making decisions based on our commitment to excellence rather than protecting a bottom line. We welcome everyone regardless of religion, orientation or ability to pay. We believe everyone deserves excellent care in a cheerful and peaceful environment.

Excellent nursing care from a dedicated staff that enjoys their work.
I highly recommend Columbia Lutheran. My mother had a great life there.
If any one of my family members needed a skilled nursing community, there is only one place in Seattle that I would recommend, Columbia Lutheran hands down!
Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. It is the greatest gift anyone can give.
Residents and Families,
On May 10, 2024, CMS published new regulations under §483.71, Facility Assessment, as part of the Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Minimum Staffing Standards for LongTerm Care (LTC) Facilities and Medicaid Institutional Payment Transparency Reporting final rule (89 FR 40876). The new requirements specify that the facility assessment must include an evaluation of diseases, conditions, physical or cognitive limitations of the resident population, acuity (the level of severity of residents’ illnesses, physical, mental, and cognitive limitations, and conditions) and any other pertinent information about the resident population as a whole that may affect the services the facility must provide. The assessment of the resident population should drive staffing decisions and inform the facility about what skills and competencies staff must possess in order to deliver the necessary care required by the residents being served. The assessment of the resident population should also contribute to identifying additional needs for residents, such as the physical space, equipment, assisted technology, individual communication devices, or other material resources that are needed to provide the required care and services to residents. In conducting the facility assessment, the facility must ensure active involvement from key individuals, including facility’s leadership, and direct care staff, and also solicit input from residents and families.
Please contact me at 206-632-7400 if you have any input for Columbia Lutheran Home’s Facility Wide Assessment or would like to discuss the assessment completed for Columbia Lutheran Home.
Sincerely,
David Heyer
